Dale and Tina Hunt owners of Grand Pickles sell locally grown, locally made Dill, Garlic and Jalapeño Pickles!
The dill recipe has been passed down through the generations but we have added the garlic and jalapeno. Our name, Grand Pickles, honors Dale’s great parents and grandparents. We have been making them with family for quite a few years. Last year our friends tried them and loved them. So here we are sharing them with others!
The pickles have become quite a hit with Bloody Mary drinkers!
Kids love to come up and sample our pickles!
Our pickles are made with locally grown, fresh produce grown in our garden and from Von Bergen’s Country Market. We use the water bath canning method and each pickle has been cut with our own hands!
Dale and I love our customer’s and consider them the best around!

May’s Honey Farms began producing “Sunny Hill Honey” in Chicago, Illinois back in 1948. Sunny Hill Honey is harvested within 50 miles of the Marengo plant producing truly local honey. The honey comes from local wildflowers such as white sweet clover, yellow sweet clover, dutch clover, alfalfa, and lynden blossoms. This combination makes for the best tasting honey around. “Sunny Hill Honey” is sold all over the Chicagoland area at fine independent grocers and fresh produce retailers.
During the massive dog food tainting and recall several years ago, we became very scared for our dogs’ health and safety and began baking treats and cookies at home. We used only human-grade ingredients and skipped the fillers and preservatives. We rolled them out by hand, baked and basted them. It didn’t take long to realize that we weren’t the only ones concerned about the health of our pets and so we shared our creations with our friends and family. After receiving an overwhelmingly positive response, Mushyface Cookie Co. was born.
Our Family began growing evergreens in 1996 as part of a re-forestation project Northwest of Marengo in rural McHenry County, Illinois. Our home farm is located between Woodstock and Marengo on 40 acres of prime, irrigated farmland – perfect for growing top quality NORTHERN ILLINOIS HARDY – LOCALLY GROWN – NURSERY STOCK.
