There are plenty of ways to celebrate the Fourth of July, but few are as charming as spending the morning on Woodstock’s Historic Square.
On Saturday, July 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Woodstock Farmers Market will transform the Square into a celebration of local food, community traditions, and summertime joy. Whether you’re gathering ingredients for a backyard cookout, meeting friends for a morning stroll, or introducing your children to a small-town tradition, the market offers a uniquely Woodstock way to begin the holiday.
A Parade for Bikes, Trikes, Pets, and Wagons
One of the most beloved parts of our Fourth of July market is the Bike, Trike, Pet, and Wagon Parade.
Children are invited to decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons, scooters, and even their pets with flags, streamers, ribbons, and plenty of patriotic flair before joining a cheerful parade around the interior sidewalk of the Square at 11 a.m.
It’s the kind of celebration that feels delightfully timeless. Neighbors wave from the sidewalks, grandparents snap photos, and kids proudly show off their creations. In a world that often moves too fast, it’s a chance to enjoy a simple activity that brings generations together.
Storytime begins at 10:30 a.m., making it easy for families to enjoy a full morning of activities before the parade begins.
Build the Big Salad
While many Fourth of July meals focus on burgers, hot dogs, and grilled favorites, we’re issuing a different challenge this year: build your entire salad at the market.
July is one of the most abundant times of year for local produce, and our vendors will be highlighting ingredients that can help you create the ultimate summer salad. Crisp lettuces, fresh greens, radishes, cucumbers, herbs, onions, tomatoes, bacon, chicken, eggs, cheese, croutons, dressings and more can all be found directly from the farmers who grew them and producers that made them.
The Big Salad is a celebration of what makes farmers markets special. You can gather everything you need from local growers while learning about the people and farms behind your food.
A Bowl Made for the Occasion

To commemorate this year’s celebration, our friends at Wheelhouse POCO have created a limited-edition Fourth of July 2026 salad bowl.
Designed to hold a generous market-fresh salad for two (or one truly impressive individual serving) the bowl serves as both a functional piece and a lasting reminder of this year’s market season. Handmade and locally crafted, it reflects the same values that define the Woodstock Farmers Market: homegrown, handmade, and rooted in community.
Every time you reach for it, you’ll remember the Fourth of July morning you spent gathering ingredients, visiting with farmers, and celebrating summer on the Square.
Bowls are available for preorder now. Follow this link to reserve yours before they’re gone.
Fresh Food, Community, and Tradition
Along with local produce and handmade goods, visitors can enjoy live music, bubbles on the Square, plenty of room for a picnic, and the welcoming atmosphere that has made the Woodstock Farmers Market a community tradition.
Whether you’re coming for the parade, the produce, the salad challenge, or simply a beautiful summer morning, we hope you’ll make the market part of your Fourth of July celebration.
